It was sad to see this place close down a couple months ago. I had been a customer for over a decade, they told me business was bad because a lot of guys don't dress up anymore (which is another pet peeve of mine). I can find well-fitting dress clothes elsewhere but Napoleon's was the only shop I knew of that had short rise jeans for $40. Any suggestions?

Yeah Gary was a good guy. How you been, Joe? I talked to you some years ago too, not surprised to find you here

Welcome to the forum, Captain. This forum is only about heightism, thus, we don't discuss fashion here, but we'd be happy to answer any questions and hear your stories relating to heightism.

We can most definitely discuss how awful of a name Napoleon's Tailor was for a clothing store for short men.

I thought the name was funny myself. Napoleon was one of the greatest military strategists of all time, I was proud to wear a label with his name

Fair enough -- your forum, your rules No worries man. A topic that deviates from heightism here-and-there isn't the worst thing ever, but as long as we don't become fashion central or start discussing "how can I dress to look taller" or "how can short men dress to impress women" or other such trivialities, we won't make to much of a fuss about things.

I get it. I'm just looking for good deals on clothing and figured the guys here probably know a thing or two about where to shop.

It's not a compliment when someone refers to a short man as a Napoleon.

There's nothing positive about proliferating(and profiting from) the hateful Napoleon Complex theory, especially when most people think that it is a scientifically-backed theory.

LOL it was just a clothing store, I thought it was clever. I don't care what "most people" think.

It doesn't matter whether or not you "care what most people think." This isn't a discussion about your individual cheerleading tactics, it's a discussion about stereotypes and stigmas created by society. In order to discuss such subjects intelligently, you have to address society's collective thoughts.

You're free to your opinion but I don't think a store that catered to short men (and provided excellent service) was part of the problem. Have fun. P.S. I don't believe in "collective thoughts", because there is no collective brain.
