Approximately 10 minutes later however, Waleed paused to readdress his joke:
“Before I made a joke at your expense, it was a short joke you’re right … not good enough by me, sorry about that,” he said addressing Steve. “No, that’s OK,” he replied. “I’ve been putting up with it my whole life.” “I know, and I never make those jokes and I know you personally don’t actually care,” Waleed continued. “But after you said it, yeah no that was pretty crap.” “You didn’t need to say that, thank you,” Steve replied. “No, I think I probably did,” Waleed finished.
Waleed Aly has issued an on-air apology to co-host Steve Price following a jibe at the commentator's height. Appearing on The Project, Waleed made a comment which implied that a toy tractor looked like it could belong to Steve. “Aw, short jokes so early!” Steve replied with a smile. “Pretty funny though,” Carrie Bickmore added, laughing.

That is pretty surprising. I'd like to see the video to analyze things better because it seemed like the rest of the participants in the conversation added fuel to the fire and didn't apologize. At-least Price didn't turn into a Garmin or make a fool of himself. It would've been nice if he would've said something along the lines of "Thanks for the apology because many short people who are watching don't get much deserved apologies for the abuse they take in their daily lives," but at-least this seems like a halfway serious attempt at voicing an understanding that shaming people for their height is wrong. It appears that Steve Price is constantly being ridiculed for his height though, so I'm sure the next time it happens, we'll be right back to no apologies being issued. www.news.com.au/entertainment/tv/current-affairs/waleed-aly-apologises-to-steve-price-on-the-project/news-story/e2a0c7105838d7c6b72c09c4f6ea50a4
