Dirk Nowitzki: Rich, Tall, Famous, Respected...Oppressed

For those who don't know, Dirk Nowitzki is a Hall of Fame caliber NBA player for the Dallas Mavericks.

In what world does he live in where people don't point-out short people's height on a constant basis? What he fails to mention is that he owes a big percentage of his fortune and fame to his height, yet, all most short people have to show for their height is ridicule, condescension, and having their entire existence diminished. Dirk plays in a league where the announcers will make constant remarks about every player who is shorter than 6'3, yet, he's under the impression that people can't get away with pointing-out the height of short people. The NBA hires Kevin Hart year-after-year to be a punchline in-regard to his height during All Star Weekend, yet Nowitzki, who has participated in his share of All Star Weekends is living under the impression that short people get away completely unscathed by comments and jokes.

Even more telling is the outpouring of support he received in the comment section. If a short person makes such a tweet, they'll be greeted with anger, tired jokes and puns that diminish the short man and his opinion, and comments will pour-in that degrade short men as a whole. However, a tall millionaire who happens to be one of the greatest basketball players of all time can whine about annoying comments he receives and everyone rushes to support him, even though he has already been given every advantage in life, in large part due to his height. To make matters worse, on his Twitter bio, he refers to himself as "tall," thus, he has absolutely no reason to complain about other people piling on the bandwagon. Kevin Hart makes an imbecile of himself by playing the role of "short little fool," thus, no one is going to support him if he speaks of heightism after offering his height as a punchline, yet, even though Nowitzki flaunts his height, people have empathy for him when he tweets about the comments he receives.

So, the current state of affairs is that people support privileged tall men who never have to work another day in their life if they chose not to, while on the other hand, any short man who dares to utter one word about the unfiltered hatred, condescension, stereotyping, and exclusion that they receive will be put back in his place in swift and harsh fashion.
