I dont understand why so many short men participate in their own demise. I think they know the existence of heightism but they refuse to admit it outloud. People on r/short are in great denial. I think on some level they think they are inferior and believe in a hiearchy. Its just really pathetic that its this way. This is the only group of people that I have seen so much denial, self hatred and garminism.

This is the only group of people that I have seen so much denial, self hatred and garminism. I think this is what happens when short men are the only ones shamed for being indignant. The moment you fire up, people will throw the "Short Man Syndrome/Napoleon Complex" at you. Even other short people have used these stereotypes to try and censor the users here. On the other hand, if you insult other groups, their anger cannot be quelled with "Flat Girl Complex" or "Bald Man Syndrome." People commonly say "angry midget" but there's no "angry fatty." This is how progress has been made towards stigmatizing body shaming, ageism, etc. They are allowed to rally when discriminated against, but short men are not. Basically, the males you see on /r/short have been conditioned by society to never rock the boat. Speaking of males, another reason is that any predominantly male issue is considered a joke, because all men are "privileged" so what is there to complain about? Men have therefore been taught that our issues are not real and don't matter, so never complain about anything because women have it worse. I see no other reason why society is tactful when talking about women's weight, but slandering short men is okay. After all, one is genetic and the other isn't. If women were instead shamed on height, society would probably be preaching about height shaming right now, while telling fat guys to shut up.

I do agree with you that short people have been conditioned on so many levels. We have been conditioned to believe because we are not tall that we are genetically inferior. And that we should know our place in society. I do believe that short people are very aware on how serious heightism is. But a lot of thave decided to try to fit in with society where tall people are on top and short people are on the bottom. Its just sad. I keep telling them that being tall is not an automatically superiority in alot of ways short people can be superior its all about see someone as a whole person and not just a body. The only way I think is to keep talking about this...until its ingrained in their minds. I say we dont give up talking about heightism. Short people have to understand thant when it comes to rockin the status quo there is going t o be pushback..there is going to be retaliation..but in this case pushback comes from more short people than tall people. I feel like it would be easier for convince tall people of heightism than it would be short people because of the conditioning they hold a grip to. The denial and the grip f status wquo is so strong that its just constant talking about heightism that will wake up out of this self hatred.
