Hi there. I'm French, 35 year-old, 5.3 tall. I can relate to everything which was said in the topics I just read. I'm so happy to have come across this forum, because everytime I googled the height problem, there was nothing in terms of social communities. Even at 35, I still don't find an internal peace of mind, and want things to change. By this, I mean a change in mentalities, and spread a global awareness of this problem, and concrete help/support of members (through professional opportunities, etc...).
Did you ever think of creating a lobby group, or secret "society", like freemasons or other groups extremely well organized ?
ps: I saw some topics from a girl. My opinion is that this fight/support can't be common. Heightism for men and women don't play in the same league. It's like having the 2 legs amputated, versus having a walking problem.

Hi rc9.. if heightism needs to be overcome short men ANd short women should unite. There is strength in numbers. And I just don't think its right for neither genders in the short community to play oppression Olympics. I am definitely open to creating an organization to fight heightism for both short men and short women.

I prefer to talk about this gender debate in another topic if it's ok for you. Don't want to pollute this topic about that.

Why would talking about uniting both short men and short women be polluting this topic?

Because it's not the core purpose of the topic. Create another one if you want.(and I will try to contribute)
To come back to the topic, my opinion is that , in order to become influent as a group, it starts by the finances. The passion and the hate we developped are a good engine, but not enough to create a powerful organization. If some groups succeed to be very powerful in this world, it's firstly because of their mutual help, professionnaly speaking. They favor someone of their "blood"/group when it comes to create a new business, or to employ someone etc... (in lucrative business).
Any other ideas to become a powerful organization?

First of all this organization that you want to create has to include both short men and short women. And there has to be equal amount of effort on both genders to understand heightism does negativly impact both of them but slightly differently. Secondly short people are in denial of heightism. There is a collective denial amongst short people in regards to heightism. Also short people either internalize heightism or think fighting heightism is pointless. I made a previous post in regards this. Overall short people are not ready to create such organization. We are bascially in the first phase. And the first phase is short people expressing and open up their experiences being short. The more we post, and share worldwide about our experiences the more short people will do it.

Welcome to the forum rc9.
First, I apologize that you were greeted with "what about the wimmminz" howling instead of the input you deserved. I assure you that most of the dialogue here is much more productive than that. We're going to have a discussion topic soon to decide how to deal with that type of thing.
In regard to heightism against short men vs women, as of now, we don't play Oppression Olympics by stating that "only those who have it worst can have an opinion." Basically, we don't want to discourage allies when short men basically remain silent wholesale about heightism. Like I stated already though, we're going to have a discussion about potentially making some changes, so make sure you voice your concerns when that happens.
As far as having a free mason type of society, that's actually a good idea because it would be another step toward having short men associate together. We're basically a secret society now because most short men who attack heightism won't even reveal their identities to their colleagues who also address heightism. I doubt short men would be ready to create that type of secret society now because 99% of them won't even talk about heightism anonymously, or, choose to deal with the issue by making buffoons of themselves, but forming such a social club would be a great next step to help guys eventually step out of the shadows completely. This idea is the exact type of creative thinking that we need around here, so I'd like to welcome you to the forum once again.

The heightism is getting totally normal... I'm fed up with that. We can't stay an inactive community

The heightism is getting totally normal... I'm fed up with that. We can't stay an inactive community Welcome to this forum! I agree, we gotta do something about it, but it’s going to be quite hard to do so. I think the first thing we need to know is we have to expose ourselves who we are, show our faces on the media and probably risk getting doxxed, but that’s the sacrifice we have to make to ensure to gain stronger trust in awareness on height discrimination. It takes balls to do so, because society now makes it seem taboo to talk about heightism. I’ve seen people mock SupportForTheShort for doing this, and he would end up being a meme for it. It’s so stupid. He’s not the only one going through this, because short men get mocked for being short then they get exposed throughout the media like they should be ashamed of themselves or something.

I would love to create an organization for short people. But a lot of short people are just too stupid to realize we need this. So im not sure how to create one.

That's a good idea. People at r/short are stupid. I never seen so many stupid people in my life. I think that there are a lot of shills on r/short so that short people cant organize themselves.
