So this has never been covered, but I still see people on r/short and that one forum "heightboard" referring to the different times they were measured and how it affects the averages. So the point is this is a great example of how height obsessed society is, that we have people think half inches are significant, people obviously only care if you're a few inches below average, so society has a huge impact on men causing them to measure their height constantly, let alone to an insignificant amount, this influence has got to be BDD disorder.

Yes. It’s so bad. I see it. They do this because shorter is seen as a bad thing.
“He’s 5’2, what a joke”
“I know. I feel bad for him.”
“I think you look almost as tall as he is.”
“Oh, no! I’m not that short. I’m 5’3 and a half. Very different! I’m short but I’m taller than him.”
It’s similar to how fat people compare themselves to other fat people.
“Look. See that guy? Damn, he’s fat!”
“But you’re fat, too”
“I know, but at least, I’m not 500 lbs like that guy”
The difference is height does not work the same way as being overweight. What amazes me is that people see short stature as something to change like weight, which is not true at all.

Post by Heightism Report on Jan 8, 2018 20:27:04 GMT
GA, myself, and others have called the "morning height" insanity out numerous times. This whole measuring yourself numerous times per day is a modern phenomenon. I certainly understand how the misguided kids who do this have allowed themselves to fall into a situation where they engage in such acts of desperation, but anyone who even thinks measuring themselves is a means to a solution for heightism is sorely misguided. Just like valorzeal stated, these kids see being short as a bad thing, so they want to know the exact instant when they "grow out of" their current height, which they see as inferior. This sad mentality is a direct consequence of people stating that short men shouldn't have groups, mentors, etc. that can help them in navigating their way through the hostilities that the world heaps on us.
