An r/short poster was speaking-of heightist expressions such as "head and shoulders above the rest" "I look up to him" etc, and a self-loathing mouth-foaming shortkins totally went off the rails
"Fuck sakes.... tell me where not serious. Are we gonna get our pussys in a not and get a offended at every little thing... sorry I meant every insignificant thing.Trust me, if general vocaburly triggers you - of you're the type to think "baa baa black sheep" is racist - you're beggining a losing battle. Even if they outlaw all "heightist" words, you're ledt with the same problems."
Unintelligent blowhards are ignorant of the manner in which studying a society's expressions, axioms, linguistics etc reveals a lot about that society's cultural beliefs and how certain beliefs are reinforced. Literally no one was saying to get triggered and cower in a poutcoma because of these expressions, the only thing the user mentioned was that the expressions reinforce heightism. Intelligent people know how to dissect language and tie it to the bigger picture. An angry ignoramus will never get past the anger phase and understand how to discuss social issues rationally, but unfortunately, rageballs like the quoted user are a constant part of heightism dialogue. No one is saying that we should kill ourselves because society uses heightist expressions; The intent of such discussions is to point-out that there are more productive ways to articulate an idea without literally equating shortness as a negative. It's pretty Garmin-esque to throw a tantrum because people are speaking against phrases that literally reinforce heightism.
