So I see people using the "you're projecting argument", most notorious is r/short, and this puts many barriers in our way. It makes people believe short men's insecurities stem out of nowhere. It also can be used to shut down any form of heightism, for example if someone tries to bring up the double standards of how tall vs short people are perceived when they try to command respect. It also allows many posters to gang up on the person who said it with anecdotal examples of all of the things that clearly derail our attempts, like rich and famous celebrities, their confident short friend, and condescendingly claiming it's all in your head because "you're projecting your insecurities" and there was never an external problem to begin with.
