What is it called when tall people do this and why do they do it? On r/short, when people call them out, they use this phrase and then leave, is it a form of a tantrum because they got called out on their heightism?

That really is an annoying phenomenon. This behavior is based-on lifelong indoctrination where tallers are programmed with the notion that they are born leaders. Even without understanding the gravity of heightism one iota, they believe that they can swing in on a chandelier and whip short men into shape with some of the natural leadership abilities that they believe they possess. They throw a tantrum merely because short men don't coo and cawww over their contrived platitudes, thus, can you imagine how they would react if they had to deal with the daily ground of what short men are expected to tolerate? There isn't really a name for this phenomenon, but it's essentially the height-related version of what feminists speak-of when they talk about "mansplaining."
