It appears that Oregon State University has been offering classes that examine the discrimination fat people face. One class focuses on "weight-based oppression," and another focuses on how being fat affects fat women. They speak of the "war on obesity" and how this impacts the lives of those who are targeted by this so-called war. However, the actual onslaught against short men in society, Hollywood, the workplace, and the dating sphere are still just a big joke and anyone who says otherwise is merely an agitator for suggesting that short men having a bullseye painted on them from day-one is somehow comparable to anything that fat women face, most of whom chose to be fat. www.campusreform.org/?ID=9570

When 4'11 Ariana Grande was called a little girl due to her height by Wendy Williams, it sparked a lot of backlash online. Society only cares when an issue affects women. If short women weren't so busy shit talking short men and kissing up to tall folk, we could literally all sit back and the work would be done for us.

This point can't be emphasized enough. The last thing short women want is to be associated with short men in any way, shape, or form. As we've discussed before, short women can get their issues addressed by categorizing height-related issues under the umbrella of sexism because as a whole, women tend to be shorter than males. When issues such as what happened with Wendy Williams happen, people get appalled because it was a woman who was attacked on account of a physical trait. As we've seen numerous time, the same type of women who would speak against the comments Wendy Williams made are the same type who attack short men if they try to do anything that short men are not allowed to do. heightismreport.tumblr.com/post/122298349333/melissa-harris-perry-confirmed-heightistSo, beyond just having our height mocked and being assumed to be child-like, we also pay a social penalty anytime we act in a manner that society only allows(and rewards) tall men to conduct themselves.

This is just an example of the clear cut day to day double standards we face as short men. Even when people are clear that an issue already gets taken seriously by society (the fat acceptance movement), they still give it more attention than short male issues because we're not allowed to have a voice. It stems from straight male issues always being overlooked and women always coming out on top in these opression olympics, which is also another problem, because if people focus on who has it worse, they aren't open for new groups forming which we all know has been quite a roadblock in fighting heightism.
