On r/short, you can see infighting among the really short guys and short guys, with the same users saying 5'7-5'8 is kind of short, 5'6 and below is short, or "5'8 is pretty average", basically the posters are too caught up on what's short and what's not, and this is an issue preventing us from viewing heightism objectively, (Is 5'6 a grey area, 5'8, why is 5'9 included in the 5'7-5'9 group it's average, etc) and these attempts to label certain heights gets in the way of fighting heightism, because the numbers don't matter, people being able to get away with discrimination against short individuals in ways that other groups would never tolerate, and short people's submission by society to the point where no who has experienced heightism will come foward, focusing on the bigots and not the victims, etc are more important than dividing the heights into categories, and r/short can't seem to get past this because all they do is argue about who should be allowed to complain and projecting their anger onto the less short people because they can get away with it and it keeps the focus off of them questioning heightism.

You are exactly right! They are constantly focused on "side issues," such as where the line for short starts, how to distance themselves from incels, how to distance themselves from red-pillers, how to be more welcoming to women, how average height guys are the enemy, pleas for everyone to stop with the "negativity," whether or not someone lives in a "tall country," and the list goes on.
You are absolutely right to say that all of this foolishness is evidence of them "projecting their anger." The reason they have anger in the first place is because of heightism and the bigots who discriminate. However, they feel much more comfortable addressing all of these irrelevant side issues than they do by putting the blame where it belongs. They need to use all of the anxiety, dissatisfaction, and anger that they have productively by putting the blame where it should be. However, they're caught in this phase where they're essentially letting off steam by finding divisions within their own group, instead of taking the fight to where it needs to be. This is just another way that the status-quo benefits. They have short men trained to accept a lifetime of docile servitude, thus, they find wedges to drive against themselves and powerless groups as a means to let off some steam. None of them are aware that this is what is happening to them, but it's blatantly obvious for anyone who has woken-up to the state of affairs current society has us battling against.
