It seems that cowardly lap dogs who try to pull-off a tough guy persona are rapidly multiplying. This is a response to a thread on r/short about what to do about all of those idiotic, same-few jokes we all hear.
"I make them to break the ice. If they aren't made with malice and are in good fun, I don't care. I'm not gonna act like a triggered SJW."

He makes self-deprecating remarks before people can even say "Hello," and is under the impression that this makes him look better than a "triggered SJW." Many of the jokes that were listed were not jokes, they were blatant insults, and even dehumanizing shit like using us as an armrest. Notice that he makes his decisions based on what he's going to look like in the eyes of the status-quo. In my opinion, that doesn't sound like the recipe for a tough guy. He doesn't have the metal to make a stand against the status-quo, so he makes a pseudo-stand online against hypothetical "triggered SJW" types and has on some level convinced himself that this makes him look like a badass. Going Full-Garmin, especially right off the bat in the way that he does, DOES NOT do anything to score you any points with tallers and women, it gets you stigmatized as being a sad sack who "tries too hard" and is over-obsessed with your height. There's no question that this guy is a card-carrying member of Club Garmin because he's shilling for tallers by classifying every short man who defends himself as a "whiny SJW," while he has an overt defense mechanism that he overuses to try to conceal the cowardice that is coursing through his frail psyche.

Another example of how short guys who accept their lot paint themselves as better than those "sjws" or anyone who dare challenge society on heightism as a coping mechanism to look like a pseudo badass. People also don't seem to understand in general that people do make self deprecating jokes on race and other fixed traits, but those groups have already done their work, short men have not made any progress, self deprecating a little is not full garmin, but considering the term is coined and any short or even average guy will make fun of himself when it gives no benefit. We shouldn't label every single short man who doesn't care about heightism a garmin, i feel that is overused, but these short guys who like you said make all their decisions on how comfortable it will make the status quo and label anyone who tries to help their cause in a negative way are garmins, period.

I'm not fighting against heightism, but do we throw the term around too loosely because some short, and average guys don't care either way, and don't go out of their way, what do we call them? Unelightened?

The people we see on reddit.com/r/short are mostly young guys, who still - as most short people do - view their height as a personal trait or a cosmetic issue, and fail to see the bigger picture. And when you mention viewing this as a social issue, you get a "deer in the headlights" look from these clowns like, who? wha?? duh??? This guy who doesn't want to seem like a "triggered SJW" is a perfect example of "individualism", in other words, the dealing of height issues on a personal, individualistic basis, instead of a group basis. I have to admit that much of this attitude is understandable because we're not viewed as a "group" per se, but to see the endless number of these types is frustrating to say the least. Looking at this as an individual issue is most-definitely a horrible misstep that short men are making. As a matter of fact, right now, our most substantial obstacle toward progress is our fellow short men who constantly fragment our efforts by steering all of the dialogue toward individualism. Whatever individual gains any of us stand to make are greatly hindered by the prejudiced beliefs and actions that don't get eradicated no matter how we present ourselves. We have "allies" who would like us to believe that we "can win hearts and minds" by "being awesome." What a bunch of idealistic nonsense. People who hate short people have absolutely no fear of repercussions, so they're not going to change until we have the power to punish them. The only way we will have power to punish people is by working as a group, not by being individually "awesome." People who have hateful beliefs don't change when the people they discriminate against buy them a cup of coffee, they change by knowing that if they don't stop their bullshit, they're going to have to face consequences. If one short person is awesome, the best that can happen is that particular short person being deemed awesome in the eyes of one bigot. The bigot still continues their hatred of other short people, but looks at the awesome short person as "the exception to the rule." People with holistic prejudices will always look to the other "not awesome" short people to justify their hatred, and even if every short person was awesome, the bigot still has the power to dismiss all awesomeness as "overcompensation" or some other prejudicial belief linked to shortness. The bigots have the power to do this, and we have no power to stop them because short people absolutely refuse to get on the same page. Not only that, but the vast majority of short people who are on the right page just sit in the shadows and say nothing. It doesn't matter what tallers do, it doesn't matter what women do, it doesn't matter what Hollywood does until we get the "Say-Nothings" to say something for a change, and then mount an offensive against the Garmins, white knights, little tough guys, lapdogs, and others who fight tooth and nail to keep us from organizing as a group. We have all of the framework set for how to move forward, but not enough bodies to get us actually moving in the right direction. I guess short people still like the taste of dirt. I've been tired of it for quite some time, but others must be fully-satisfied with second-class citizenship.
