Here's a running list of rationalizations I have seen fools use as to why acts of heightism....aren't actually heightism
Hateful tweets
-Those people probably are just saying those things because they are angry at something a short man did to them today
-It's Twitter. That's what people do on Twitter
-They're just trying to impress their friends. When they say "I hate short men," that doesn't mean they really hate short men
Tall Guys Get Paid More/Are Much More Likely To Be CEOs
-Well, it makes sense because being tall usually indicates extremely good health, proper nutrition, and other factors that are correlated with success
All Of The Examples I Have On My Blog Of Short Kids Committing Suicide After Being Bullied Because Of Their Height
-That's not really a heightism issue, it's just a bullying issue
Women Openly Rejecting Men Because Of Their Height
-If a woman is saying that she's rejecting a guy because of his height, that's just what they're saying out loud, but there's really a different reason.
-You can't fault them for this because back in caveman days, taller guys were more liable to be better hunters, so women reject short men so harshly because it's an attempt to protect their future offspring(I've also seen a few folks use this rationalization to justify women "needing" a guy who's taller than her when she's wearing heels. No comment needed)
Bartenders, Store Employees, etc., Having A Tendency To Ignore Short Men
-It's just a field of vision issue. Tall guys are just easier to see
Tall Guys Expecting Everyone To Move For Them On The Sidewalk
-The field of vision argument again. Taller guys just have a higher vantage point, so it's harder for them to see everyone else
In the comments, add heightism-justifying arguments you seen, and discuss why the ones I've mentioned are total BS(and yes, they are all total bs)
