You got the usual suspects in the comments, like "I'm a girl and I like short guys," or one of our favorites, the fallacy of relative privation: using cancer patients or whatever other group to downplay OP's problems.
What's funny is that's he's probably heard all this before, and that's one of the reasons why he's getting leg lengthening surgery. Instead of society taking a cold hard look at how hypocritical heightism is in today's politically correct age, people will instead just say "seek therapy bro." Thus he is willing to pay 80 grand and break his legs to escape all that noise.
It's also interesting how butthurt people get at the idea of LL. I can understand the critique against the price and safety, but the backlash seems to go beyond that. After all, some girl who wants a nose or boob job doesn't bother people nearly as much. People usually just say "her body her choice."
No, I honestly think people simply aren't too happy that there exists a way for a short man to no longer know his place. Rather than simply answering his question, does it not seem like those in the comments are in a rush to get him back into line? Like he's rocking the boat too much by even mentioning this topic, so they shush him by treating him like a mental patient who's missed his daily dose of bluepill.
Either way, people refuse to examine why something could cause such mental anguish, to the point where a person is willing to pay tons of money to cripple themselves. Could heightism be the problem? No, it's the short man who's wrong. Therapy will solve that problem in a jiffy.
P.S. Daily reminder to never fat shame women, it might cause an eating disorder.

This reminds me of this I had posted heightismhub.freeforums.net/thread/460/guy-grows-inches-told-head.If you look through that thread the replies are too eerily similar, with the same type of gaslighting and victim blaming but Post surgery. No, I honestly think people simply aren't too happy that there exists a way for a short man to no longer know his place. Rather than simply answering his question, does it not seem like those in the comments are in a rush to get him back into line? This is exactly what i see whenever a short guy is so desperate that pays surgeons to cripple him to make him taller. It seems like tall men enjoy their privileges so much, they can't even stand the idea of an anonymous short man becoming average height , and the backlash comes from them banding together in such a way you don't see with other outsiders of a group. This is where the term NPC comes from, it's almost like they're reading off a script with the replies being so similar to the ones we see every time heightism is brought up by a short man. They also brought "you don't know the problems of tall men" into it, but in that case why are they pretending to understand his problems? They love the argument "this surgery isn't the same as nosejobs or a boob job" (basically another form of the fallacy of relative privitation) but instead should be looking at how bad society must be to consider one of the worst surgeries in the first place. The guy didn't reply to the thread probably knowing he would get opinionated women who think they know it all because society praises everything they say, and tall men using olympic level mental gymnastics to make him think he's the problem for not working out and being "young and immature", and i don't blame him one bit. The people are on a finance sub, and they clearly have the pompous attitude of I know more than you because i deal with money. when like you said he's heard this shit thousands of times. You also can't miss all the people who think life from 5'10 would be barely different from how he would be treated at an objectively short height, because these are probably 5'9-5'10 men who don't realize how much they would be stepped on if they were merely a few inches shorter or how a 5'10 guy is 6 feet to most women because of men lying all the time due to heightism.

You're right. This is exactly like that other thread you linked. Some things never change.
Lmao it's hilarious when people say a short guy doesn't know about tall guy problems, but at the same time, everyone and their mothers seemingly understands short men's problems. What the fuck? Besides, a short guy who gets LL becomes average height, so why are tall guys being brought into the equation? To humblebrag? Or are tall guys favored so much that a thread about a short guy turns into a thread about tall dudes? I'll tell you what we here already know. Short men have double the suicide rate of tall men, and sperm banks ban all short men but not tall men. It's amazing how while all that is happening, a short guy's concerns are downplayed while tall guys' issues are acknowledged.
And let's say hypothetically, leg lengthening became much cheaper and safer. Will society be okay with it then? With how nasty people get towards short men who simply wear shoe lifts, I have to wonder.
