www.city-data.com/forum/relationships/1318156-its-been-year-since-i-had-8.html This post is not a critique or any introspection on surgery or "growing taller" in any way, but it's to show an instance of everyone coming together to convince a former short man he was imagining his mistreatmen, so the Op was this very heightism aware 5'6" guy sharing his experience with how life was after he "grew" to 5'9", noticed how much differently women treated him, and he was gaslighted by 90% of the posters in the long ass dumpster fire of a thread. There was atleast a comment on every page saying "you're still short, you always had the confidence", women giving examples of their short boyfriends, tall men denying their privilege and people who are as ignorant as possible on heightism. On page 17 he even gets the napoleon complex thrown at him, people making jokes about short people and then denying why a short man would feel the need to lengthen his legs. Imagine being as stupid, hypocritical, and ignorant as some of these people are and not being able to see it Look how quick people are to make arguments such as "if you're flipping burgers it doesn't matter how tall you are" "those types of women aren't worth it anyway", and a million different ways that people are rationalizing why he would have been treated differently., putting aside the ll part.

Also look how much cognitive dissonance this one 5'11" guy has in one post
There are many other disadvantages in life. I'm 5'11", and I've never been on more than one date in my life ! Where does that fit in the OP salesman's theory ? There are plenty of homeless people on the street who are above average in height. Where does that fit in the OP salesman's theory ?
At work, I have no idea what height my colleagues are. No clue. Thinking about it in light of this thread, I'm positive that several of them are below average in height, and they're doing just fine. And I've never paid attention to their height. The only guy who's height I've noticed is the guy who's, like 6'5 or 6'6.
One of my favorite movies is My Cousin Vinny. I had no idea Joe Pesci was even short until someone at work pointed that out he is. I watched the movie again, and I said, wow, he really is short. But he did such a good job in that movie that I didn't notice at all until someone pointed it out to me !
Men who are short need to decide whether it is worth the tremendous risk of breaking a leg. When they could just develop great talent, the way Joe Pesci has, and make something of their lives without choosing to take on tremendous pain and unnatural/unnecessary risk. But to each is own.
Hurr durr I'm above average height but I've never thought about height, but I go at great lengths to make all the anti-heightism arguments in the book and gaslight short men, also just be a celebritity and you'll be fine!
