Look at Mel! Isn't she pretty? Isn't her world so bright and colorful? Isn't there a radiance about her and all of the things she owns? Mel is going to "up" her plans and she certainly deserves to do so!
(Short guy enters)
OMGGGG....bahahahahaa....I thought she was going to "up" her plans. It appears not!
(Short guy gives a goofy, unaware grin)
Look at that little goober! He doesn't even know that Mel is "upping" her plans by dating a guy she can "look down" on. Mel's so crazy. You go, sista.
That is basically the plot of this commercial. We're supposed to love Mel for being the crazy, flamboyant, colorful woman she is, and we're supposed to think she's even more crazy for "settling" for a short stumpy guy who dresses like a child. Many people won't see the heightism in this, but when there is an ongoing narrative where short men are supposed to be court jesters and punchlines, it's not difficult to analyze what this company was going for. This short guy is a sight gag. Plain and simple. Just think of Mel were a lesbian and instead of wanting to "up" her plans, she wanted to "rough it," thus, they had some extremely butch woman enter the room. I very seriously doubt that this commercial would just end-up in the chucklefest that has ensued because they decided to trot a goofy short jester out.
Of course, r/short absolutely loves this portrayal of short men and thinks the whole thing is adorable. https://www.reddit.com/r/short/comments/f3i58l/saw_this_on_the_london_underground_today_and/

At this point, if you posted literal cuckold porn but it featured a short guy, /r/short would love that too. They clearly don't understand why, let's say, 50 Shades of Gray was so popular with women and yet it did not star a guy like the one in the commercial.
Anyway, that commerical is tame compared to the classics, like "HPI Shortchanged." Remember that one?

I totally forgot about that abomination!
Why is that women so disenchanted? She could always just tie him up and take his dinner

And after eating his dinner, she could focus on finding the tall man she deserves

And then, she and all of her friends could go on a quest for tall men, while the short men they reject could just giggle like a bunch of buffoons

And then, they could all go home, put on ill-fitting, wrinkled clothes, go into their sad tiny apartment, have run-ins with top shelves, and watch cartoons

LOL. Is the Mel ad the final part of this saga, where he takes her in after the tall guys move on from her? By the way, check out this screengrab from r/short:

By the way, check out this screengrab from r/short: .Did you post that screen grab because it was delusional or accurate? Because the whole “they lower their standards when they get older” (not talking about you) is ridiculous at face value, considering how many men are desperate for a whiff of poon and as the Incels would say, this is severe “coping”. By now they should know about hypergamy being well studied and how “women” think they deserve it all too, but learn how to be more tactful about it. I can’t really blame women for lying to short men, considering how easily they take bait about their fair maidens and “not all women, my boyfriend is short but still several inches taller than me”, lol.

I can’t really blame women for lying to short men, considering how easily they take bait about their fair maidens. Exactly. The amount of coping in that screen-grab is overwhelming. This whole theory is predicated on the notion that these lonely dudes should become adults, just kind of wait in the wings for like....you know.....twenty-five years, and then swing in on a chandelier for any fair maiden who will "settle" for them. However, they have to wait until however long it takes these women to completely get over their tall Prince Charming fetishes. Many people(of all genders) have inflated egos these days because of social media and online dating, so that twenty-five years is looking closer to thirty-five years into adulthood at this point. However, it's ultimately up to the tall guys to decide when they're done with these women, so timetables can vary from fair maiden to fair maiden. I also love how this line of reasoning completely ignores the "sour grapes" argument that r/short loves to sling around. "You don't want to be with shallow people who don't like short guys anyway." Ok...so now....they're amending that platitude to say that "You don't want to be with those women....until tall men are finished with them." Good lord man, what a bunch of sad sacks.

How dare you? I have a six-digit karma count on reddit and have slain many incels online. And I'll have you know that screenshot is 100% accurate. I myself married such an older woman. She said she'll even let me sleep in the same bed as her tonight if I deny heightism 10 more times on /r/short.

Ya'll look at Bikerbats in that thread. "I was actually impressed to see a dude who looks more like the dudes I see on the street every day instead of another GQ ready model/actor."
Now, we see why this guy struggles so hard with understanding heightism. Not only is he too cowardly to challenge the status-quo, but he's also not that bright. He thinks this was a positive portrayal. That's why guys like he and Mike enjoy Reddit so much. They aren't really capable of using their brains to gain actual success in life, thus, they sculpt BS personas on Reddit to try to relive their youth.

If you keep that up, she might let you show her your meme-stash. Keep slaying bro.

I thought of all the powerful women in my life, my sister, my mother, my wifey..it's scary to think of how many many inkwells there are in the real world. Luckily my wifey always goes out with brad from work who is tall, strong and will protect her in case any incels rear their ugly heads.

If you substituted impressed for "surprised", it would actually be accurate, considering how the famous, successful, confident short man portrayed in the media and ads like this is usually an adonis. It's funny because they will do a complete 180 and make a man short, fat, and bald when they want to take down the cheerleading facade and be heightist, but will do end up back at square one with another 180 when a few short men question shit like this. The fact that you could never find shape tall man painted the way they do when they want to make a woman seem quirky, debunks that continuous clown's belief that this is positive. It's really sobering to think in only 10-15 years, these two (mikerbats) will be dead with their personas they carry, unchanged. I'm not advocating for their mortality, simply pointing out how sad it is that due to age, their deaths are very likely mere years away, they'll be on their deathbeds, not changed a bit , their glass personas carrying on their "legacies".

Mikerbats! I love it. They're like a combo-simp of delusion and false machismo. They truly will never change even though they don't have all that much time left. People used to believe that age brought wisdom, but it seems that in the modern era, even some old men are subject to the same pining for anonymous internet points that young teens fall victim to. I'm glad I had a grandfather as a role model who was nothing like those two dodo birds. One of the things he taught me was to find things to do that made me and others happy at the same time, and he never worried about recognition because the satisfaction of doing noble work gives a man all the pride he will ever need. While on the other hand, these two yucksters spend their time role playing as bad stereotypes of a 1980s Chuck Norris movie, and even though no one over the age of fifteen is buying their act, they have deluded themselves into thinking that they've left behind a trailblazing legacy. It's really sad to watch. Like I've said before though, our job isn't to drag along dead weight who will kick and scream the entire time we're trying to challenge the status-quo. Our job is to continue to discuss heightism the proper way so that IF short men in the future ever decide to get serious about demanding a better stake in society, they can use our template to move forward. Our legacy will be much better than these silly chump-guppies who are spending their golden years flaunting false personas to try to soothe the teen angst that they never settled during their childhood. It must be pure hell being anything like those two chumphouses, but they're the ones who have to carry that burden.
