Ok, first, let's address the fact that believing no one has ever been "harassed" for being short is completely outlandish considering the plethora of examples and evidence that have been provided. The fact that no one has ever been killed for being short is also nonsense because short people are considered easier targets(cue the "serial killers prefer smaller victims" study that we've posted several times.) There's also a sociological concept called "intersectionality" where being in more than one disenfranchised group can lead to tangential discrimination on more than one level, which means that if someone were black in addition to gay, it'd stand to reason that they'd face more discrimination than someone who was just black. Absolutely no one who is being honest with themselves will have an issue in the belief that a gay person who is built like The Rock is less likely to become a target than a gay person who is 5'1 and 106 pounds, thus, it's the pinnacle of disingenuous to think that height has absolutely no bearing on whether someone can become a victim of harassment or homicide. One of the exact reasons heightism needs to be taken more seriously is so that we can develop of body of work where a victim's height is considered in-addition to their race, sexual orientation, gender. The whole "no one has ever been harassed or killed because of their height" platitude is based-on a convenient narrative where no one cares enough to find-out just how much height factors into violent attacks. The absence of evidence is based on the absence of concern, and not necessarily the absence of merit. If these people were so dedicated to truth and evidence, they'd be advocating for more research to be dedicated to the exploration of whether heightism is a factor in assaults, murders, etc., but instead, they're vociferously opposed to any such efforts. They've already decided their conclusion far in advance of any experiments being conducted. I believe we all know the reasons why they behave in such a childish, anti-science manner.
That thread also has renowned miserable rageweasel "Yamoth" blabbering away about how he doesn't have time to address heightism because he's more concerned about "real issues." That's funny considering that if you check his post history, you'll see that he has ample time and energy to gatekeep against heightism discussions. He spends far more time lobbying against heightism discussions than he does addressing what he sees as real issues, therefore, it's evident that he does see how much of an issue heightism is; He just happens to be too much of a coward to admit it. For someone who doesn't see heightism as a real issue, he sure is extremely hostile toward the few people who are trying to address the issue. Someone who doesn't have anything to lose by heightism being addressed wouldn't throw an endless temper tantrum on the subject. It's obvious that he just wants to kowtow to the status-quo and be a good little boy, which indicates that his rage stems from a fear that his masters won't throw him some table scraps if he doesn't head all heightism discussion off at the pass.
