https://www.reddit.com/r/short/comments/ev8hj3/toxic_positivity_is_a_thing_whats_wrong_with/ Toxic positivity is a thing. What's wrong with venting? So apparently, there's a name for the positivity plauge we all know called "toxic positivity", and the user posted a very good chart as shown above that relates to a lot of ways short men are invalidated, gaslighted, and shut down by everyone who demonizes negativity and won't touch it with a 100 foot pole. Look through the comments and you can see conveniently none or very few of the regular positivity-crazed simpletons show up, because they know they have no arguments to refute this and they would be in over their head trying to do just that .

I saw this on r/short the other day and am glad you took the initiative to bring it over here. I heard of the term "toxic positivity" a few months ago and immediately thought of how it related to everything that short men who address heightism have to endure. It seriously is nothing more than a silencing tactic to get us to shut up, except it's extra deceptive because it's wrapped in a "good feelings" "make the world a happier place" wrapper, which is hard to circumvent because society laps this type of stuff up. Even people who are well-intentioned get misled by the lure of "toxic positivity" because they may think they are doing good, but are just unaware of the sneaky tricks society uses to reaffirm the status-quo. On the other hand, it is also a very deadly weapon in the hands of bad actors who just want marginalized groups such as short men to "shut up and take it." This type of faux positivity is nothing but a fluff-baked version of using a short man syndrome stereotype to keep short men in their place because it allows the person to back us into a corner where if we challenge their toxic positivity, we get accused of being "too negative" and "being a sad person who sucks all the joy out of life." However, those of us who post on this forum WILL NOT be fooled by this tactic because like I said, it's nothing more than a fluffed-up version of labeling a short man with short man syndrome, and also, we know this tactic is nonsense because we have holistically debunked the simpletons and fluff-pushers who have pedaled this flavor of snake oil dating back to the beginning of heightism discussions.
