en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacrophiliaNotice how the designation of macrophilia only deals with males being attracted to taller women. The true translation of the word isn't even gender-specific because it translates to "lover of large," but we all know how in current society, male sexuality is classified as deviant while female sexuality is "empowering." What does this have to do with heightism? I think everyone here will agree that the insatiable desire females have toward tall men is a borderline mental illness, and as everyone here also knows, women go to painstaking efforts to ensure that their preference for tall men is known, and they will resort to any means necessary to ensure that they don't waste their time with short men when they could be spending time with the tall men they "deserve." I don't even know how much serious attention the field of psychology pays to macrophilia(if any) but I think it's important to understand that the large percentage of women in the population who compete for males that fall above the 90% height percentile should be treated as an odd fetish instead of it being treated as some irreversible "natural" phenomenon, but only men who have a "giant fetish" are punished because they are violating the male-taller norm. Yes, I know the fetish generally involves people who are significantly above even what is "normal tallness" but the fact that almost 100% of women prefer men to be several inches taller than they are and aren't called-out for having such preferences/requirements deserves to be re-examined

Like i've said, we need more scholars and women are the biggest beneficiaries of heightism, because they have the power and poor women get taken seriously, their abuse of the support they get for discriminating against short men and choosing men who are well over 6' needs more scholarly attention, and r/short needs to be consistently called out for allowing women to voice their taller male discrimnatory beliefs, the ones that go beyond a preference and include huge height deviations. This is a goldilocks example https://www.reddit.com/r/tall/comments/2tiava/do_you_guys_have_any_advice_to_help_me_stop_being/,In this post on r/tall, op is labeled creepy and deviant for being attracted (yes the op is obviously heightist and the height subs are horrendously heightist and I stay away at all costs) while women who ensure people know they have a fetish that as heightismreport said, borders on a mental illness, and this exemplifies how short men can only take what they can get and are shut down the instant they violate the norm, but "opressed" women need to make sure the beneficiaries get the spotlight.

That r/tall thread you linked sounds EXACTLY like a woman singing the praises of tall men. All you have to do is substitute the goddess language with Prince Charming type of rhetoric. That thread was a great example because it illustrates that if you break the male-taller norm, you're a creepy fetishist, but if you flip the genders, it's every little girl's dream and the realization of the princess fantasy that every girl deserves in life.
