I'd love to have everyone's input on this.
Something that the mods of r/short have always been opposed to is creating a sidebar link that lists all of the heightism studies so that people can get information about empirical evidence. I guess this is because they want to distance themselves from deep discussion and want to maintain their rep of talking about how great short people are at hide and seek, and where to get leotards for their Christmas elf costumes.
Anyway, I was thinking that we should create a separate subforum that shows links to empirical studies(and maybe articles) that have been done about heightism. Everything posted would have to contain some type of empirical evidence, statistics, or research, thus, we would not post anything that was just merely opinion. It would create a one-stop-shop we could link people to who wanted to learn more about heightism, or, could even be used to attempt to educate deniers.(I know they still wouldn't listen, but it's our job to tell the facts whether or not people want to hear them) It could also influence people to do research papers of their own on heightism. That's my idea for one subforum.
Another subforum would be for links to videos of ads, movie portrayals, billboards, songs etc., that are heightist in nature. The reason I think this would be a good idea would be because it would be convenient to show people how pervasive heightist indoctrination is in society and popular culture, and it would be an easy way for people to see how heightism presents itself without having to do a lot of reading. This could be a good tool for us to have moving forward.
What do you guys think? Do we have enough subforums as it is, or, do you think it's a good idea to add a few more in-order to try to develop tools that we can easily link people to so that they can get a crash course on heightism?
Any input for or against these ideas will be greatly appreciated and taken into consideration.
