I came across this earlier, and thought it was funny how the garmin clearly assumed OP was a short guy (because we all know only insecure short guys can call out double standards). It's also rich how he expects the tall dude to sympathize with women's eating disorders. Basically he's saying, "Please be considerate of women's feelings, but you can talk to men however you want." All the while 3 out of 4 suicides are male, short men have twofold the suicide rate of tall men, and not to mention how height is less controllable than weight. If white knights didn't have double standards, they'd have no standards at all. I also like the other people in the comments moving the goalposts and turning this into another "It's not shallow to have preferences" lesson, even though the original message is "Why is it rude to randomly ask for any body measurement besides height?" The hypocrisy is getting out of hand, and garmins are helping to keep the double standards alive for nothing other than being viewed as "secure." Anyway, aside from exposing these garmins and hypocrites, the purpose of this thread is to highlight how people attempt to portray positive actions negatively. Are you questioning double standards? Then you're insecure, pandering, etc. It's all designed to shame you back into line by putting the focus on you, rather than the ones being initially called out. Unfortunately for this particular garmin, he used this tactic on a tall guy. Looks like Uncle Tom here failed to get his head pat on this day. P.S. Notice how the garmin was initially upvoted until OP revealed his height, then the garmin got downvoted. Two men could make the same point, but the short man would be wrong and the tall man right. Typical.

Which is always funny, because I doubt people would listen to a male feminist over a female feminist when it comes to women's issues for example.
