From what I've seen, the fans played right into his hands. People got riled up over his comment about "retards" and the "husky wife," while at the same time not batting an eye at height shaming. He plays a villainous character on TV, but does anyone else think this is him bringing realism into it? After all, nothing he said was actually wrong, but look at the replies. So either he is outright calling out heightism, or this guy is playing 4D chess to have people boo him, as he realizes there is nothing more evil than pointing out today's double standards. Perhaps he is doing both. Either way, l ook at how this one wrestling fan got downvoted on reddit, and I don't think he's even a short guy: i.imgur.com/tp7Nov9.png
"Little feller" comment aside, like he said, he was just stating facts. There is clearly nothing worse than causing cognitive dissonance in people who pride themselves on political correctness. I have yet to see a good reason from them on why fat shaming is never okay but height shaming is.

Negative 27 for his correct comment. This world is a joke.

The original link has been taken down, although this sounds like it was a very interesting post. The fact that it was taken down might make as much of a statement as the original post did.(Just like when the Implicit Bias Test regarding height got taken off the Harvard research site, presumably because it showed a stronger bias than race and gender)
Anyway, hopefully we can track down another link.

Checking his most recent tweets, I have no doubt now that he was being serious:
I cannot believe the balls on this guy.

You guys have got to see this, it's the ultimate collection of smart people versus stupid people: archive.is/KOblR
You have the morons saying Austin Aries has a Napoleon Complex and mocking his height, then you have the people who correctly point out how talking shit about Aries' height just proves he is right. Gold Star thread imo.

Wow! That thread is a win for us, even with all of the stupidity swirling around. When you first posted this, I looked at Aries' Twitter page and was wondering if this was just part of a persona he was playing because he also goes on Twitter rants about veganism, etc. However though, regardless of whether this is part of a persona or if he is being 100% genuine, the thread is evidence that the message is still getting across.
We're going to keep losing the battle if more short men don't join us in addressing heightism, but at a bare minimum, that thread is indicating that we are at-least getting the message out there. All of the sensible people in the thread didn't get that information from Garmins or heightism-deniers, they got the message from those of us who speak the truth. This thread should act as a call for other short men to start addressing heightism.

Speaking of pro wrestlers, they usually claim to be 3 inches taller than they really are. AJ Styles claimed to be 5’11”, but he’s really 5’8”. Same as Rey Mysterio, 5’6”, but really 5’2”. Aries is 5’9” or is he really? He’s probably 5’6”. Maybe that’s why legit 5’9” guys think they’re short, people like Aries get made fun of for being too short, so guys look at that and say “if that 5’9 guy is short in wrestling, then I must be short!”

I just took a look at that. Definitely a plus.
You know, the taller short guys are becoming more aware of heightism now. Austin claims to be 5'9". I don't know if he is or not since I don't follow him, but wrestlers do usually exaggerate their heights. Five-foot-nine is short in the wrestling world, no doubt about that, and Austin knows it. He also knows that it's not cool to disparage anyone on a myriad of traits, except of course, height, specifically short stature. How could he NOT realize it in the world of wrestling? It is good to see someone of note, a short guy, recognize what a few of us have been recognizing for a long time.
I’m pretty sure he already knew as soon as he turned into a teenager. I remember back when I was a teenager, I still believed I was too small to be a WWF wrestling star. The only reason why I didn’t join wrestling was because I didn’t want to resort to a character who does somersaults and flipping around like Rey Mysterio. I wanted to be seen as a big guy who could do powerbombs and chokslams. If one wants to be a WWE star, he needs to be, at least, 5’9” to even be taken seriously. It’s obvious that in WWE, the taller the wrestler is (and the most muscular), the most easily popular he’ll become. Want to be a popular WWE superstar? You need to be, at least, 5’9”-6’0” or taller.
